Introducing Guest Author Guy Fraser-Sampson

We are delighted to be welcoming Guy Fraser-Sampson to the Unconvention weekend.  guy fraser-sampson

If you are a regular attendee of books festivals you may well have heard Guy talking about his Mapp and Lucia novels, which have been featured on Radio 4 and optioned by BBC television. They have won praise from the likes of Alexander McCall Smith, Gyles Brandreth and Tom Holt.

Guy has now embarked on ‘The Hampstead Murders’ a new series which looks set to change the way in which we look at detective fiction. Deliberately distancing himself from the modern formulaic approach of a damaged central character, gratuitous sex and violence, and improbable story lines, Death in Profile (the first in the series) introduces us to a team of likeable police officers and the issues which we will see develop in their work and personal lives as the series progresses.

Guy is well known as a fluent and entertaining speaker and we are sure you will enjoy hearing his thoughts on both the history and the future of detective fiction.
